Volkswagen Beetle 1600

Build and sold in Mexico in 1990

In 1998 this specific Beetle with chassisnumber 11L0079075 was bought secondhand by Belgian journalist Tom Dieusart who was at that time living and working in Mexico City. Five years later, in 2003, Tom relocates to Buenos Aires in Argentina and his beloved Beetle is his preferred partner for an epic 16.000 kilometer roadtrip through Central and South America. A book was published about this 'one man adventure' and gives a great insight in not only the car, but also in all the cultural and political aspects of every country.

This Beetle will be sold in condition "as-is" for a modest 8.450,00 Euros. Technical inspection is already done (zero remarks) and the car is ready for immediate immatriculation 'Oldtimer'. The engine fires up immediately and runs very smooth, a small oil leak maybe requires some attention. The car drives and steers absolutely flawless but the second gear syncromesh needs to be handled with precision. (if you doubleclutch into 2nd there is no problem)

Included in the sale:

- Belgian papers with technical inspection & Car-Pass

- Historic Mexican documents and period photos proving the car's origin

- The book "De Laatste Rit van de Kever"

- 10 keys

If you wanna have a car with a story this is it!
